Zygomatic Dental Implants

What are Zygomatic dental implants?

Zygomatic dental implants are a type of dental implant used to replace missing teeth when traditional dental implants cannot be placed due to insufficient bone density in the jaw. They are anchored in the zygomatic bone, which is the cheekbone, rather than the jawbone.

Zygomatic dental implants are longer than traditional implants and can extend from the zygomatic bone to the maxillary bone, which is the upper jawbone. This allows the implants to be anchored securely in place, even if there is not enough bone in the jaw to support traditional implants.

Benefits of Zygomatic Implants

  • Due to the implant placement, and the location of the zygomatic bone in the mouth, patients don’t have to go without their teeth while the implants are healing, making for a faster recovery.

  • There is also no need for supplemental procedures. It is a “one and done” type of procedure. This ensures excellent results while saving our patients time and money in the long run.

  • Zygomatic implant procedures have a 97-98% success rate, a very safe and smooth process.
